First non-official tests in Road Atlanta

Road Atlanta, September 27th, 2006 - The weather turned out to be perfect during the unofficials tests of the Star Mazda Series. Exceptionnally, the race will be held on a week day (Friday), as the practices were on September 26th and 27th.

Road Atlanta is a fast circuit situated in the mountains. The 17 year-old Canadian already drove on this track as he qualified the pole position last year in Formula BMW USA. He comes back this year really confident about winning his first race.

An engine problem

During the first practice session, Kevin's engineers noticed that something was wrong on the #74 UniSelect engine. They gathered to get a new one, which made him go up on the charts for the second session.

Tires with defaults

At the last practice session on wednesday, Kevin stepped back as he did the 7th best time. His engineers had not change the setup on the car so they checked on the tires. They found problems in them. Good Years' engineers came and they confirmed the doubts as they saw defaults in the tires.

Qualifying session will be held tomorrow

Kevin Lacroix will do another practice session on September 28th, just before he goes to qualifying. "I am really confident and determinated. So far, my team is doing a great job", he said.
