Kevin Lacroix takes the checkered flag in 6th place

The young Quebec driver didn’t take the easiest route to finish sixth at the end of this afternoon’s race in Elkhart Lake. Kevin, who started from the 8th place quickly fell behind, before starting a spectacular recovery from 15th. The St-Eustache driver had a lot on his plate, he was in the middle of a lot of fights on track in order to gain the 9 positions that would award him 6th place at the finish.

“This is a race where I had a lot of fun, says Kevin. I was overtaken by many drivers at the start of the race, they were taking the draft in the long straights and I ended up 15th. Afterwards, I started to gain some ground and it was my turn to use the draft to overtake. I really had fun on track”, concludes Kevin.

“This year has been a learning year for me, continues Kevin. It will be very helpful for next year. I’ve discovered several new race tracks and I took the start of 8 of the 12 scheduled 2007 races. Now that we have signed with Walker Racing, we will be able to start the practices earlier this year. There is also a possibility that I take the start of the Phoenix “out of competition” race, this would be a great opportunity to work with the team and I can’t wait to see if we will be able to take part of this race.”

It is the 22 year-old Frenchman, Frank Perera, who took the win in front of the 2007 champion, Raphaël Matos. Lacroix was the fastest Canadian driver, he finished in front of Robert Wickens, who finished seventh. In regards with the other Canadian, James Hinchcliffe, he had a difficult weekend and finished the race in 14th place.
